We gather once a week to play riichi mahjong. This is a version of mahjong that developed in Japan and has lately grown in popularity in Europe and elsewhere, with clubs emerging around the country. We started playing games in November 2023 and formalised as a club in February 2025.

We play at games cafe/bar Burton Banter at Windsor Industrial Estate, Hawkins Lane, Burton upon Trent, DE14 1QF. There’s no table charge, you just need to buy food or drink.

No former experience required and we love to teach new players the rules!

We don’t have a fixed day on which we play so check the homepage for details of when the next event is, but the general rule is it’s 7pm on a Tuesday to Thursday.
